The Solution: CoreHW’s Indoor Location System (RTLS)

Meet CoreHW’s Indoor Location System – a Real-Time Location System that uses advanced Bluetooth® LE 5.1 (or higher) AoA direction-finding to track assets and people with unprecedented precision. Our solution combines small wireless tags and ceiling or wall-mounted locators to calculate real-time positions with accuracy down to ±10 cm (≈4 inches).

It’s a seamlessly integrated hardware and software platform: the CoreTags transmit direction-finding signals, and CoreLocators with multi-antenna arrays receive those signals to compute exact 3D locations of each tag. 

Built on open Bluetooth standards, CoreHW’s system easily interfaces with existing IT systems and works wherever GPS can’t – delivering dependable indoor tracking in warehouses, hospitals, factories, stores, and more.

How It Works

Each CoreTag emits a Bluetooth AoA signal that multiple locators pick up. By analyzing the signal’s angle of arrival, the system triangulates the tag’s 3D location in real time. This AoA method dramatically improves indoor accuracy compared to signal-strength methods.

CoreHW’s patented antenna and IC technology means fewer components and finely tuned signal processing, enabling one locator to cover a wide area and track hundreds of tags simultaneously with extreme accuracy. 

The result: a reliable indoor GPS-like system that updates continuously, so you always know where your critical assets and people are.

CoreHW CoreLocator

AoA locators utilize multi-element antenna arrays to detect phase differences in received signals. The Bluetooth Low Energy SoC in these locators generates IQ samples, which are then used to calculate the signal’s direction, either within the locator itself or by an external processor. While two locators are typically needed to determine an object’s position, height information can allow for accurate position calculation with just a single antenna array.

CoreHW’s CoreLocator is an AoA locator device intended for indoor location system users. Our locator includes CoreHW AoA antenna array board and CoreHW main board.

CoreHW CoreTags

In AoA systems, tracked tags transmit direction-finding-enabled packets (CTE) to enable precise position tracking. A typical tag comprises an antenna, a Bluetooth Low Energy System-on-Chip (SoC), and a power source. To maximize battery life, the hardware and firmware of the Bluetooth Low Energy SoC should be carefully optimized for minimal current consumption.

CoreHW’s CoreTags are advanced real-time location devices featuring patented antenna and IC technology, delivering position accuracy up to ±10 cm with a battery life of up to 5 years, optimized for challenging environments using Angle of Arrival (AoA) technology.
