PCB Trace Antennas

In products where the cost pressure defines the manufacturing technologies, PCB trace antennas are a natural choice due to superior cost and integration properties. PCB antennas such as monopole, patch, inverted-L, inverted-F, and slot antennas are relatively straightforward to design.

The performance of the antennas in terms of polarization, efficiency, return loss, and tolerance to dimensions and materials can be anything from excellent to poor, depending on the skills of the antenna designer, and of course the operating environment of the wireless system.

CoreHW uses PCB trace antennas in most of our products. For example, the chip antenna  inside CHW3021 is a close relative to more simple PCB antennas, and our RTLS antenna arrays use patch antennas.

CoreHW CHA68x Antenna Series

CoreHW has developed the CHA68x antenna platform for narrow, wide, and ultra-wide band (UWB) RF systems. The operating bands cover ISM2.4 band for Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi 7 combo antenna for 2.4GHz and 5-7GHz, high-frequency antennas for Wi-Fi high-band & UWB Ch5 to Ch9 (5.1-8.5GHz), and plain UWB antennas for Ch5-Ch9 (6.2-8.5GHz). Other bands and band combinations are possible.

CoreHW PCB Trace Antenna Design Service

CoreHW can assist you with any PCB trace antenna design, from monopole to UWB antennas. We use an iterative virtual design process, where feedback from stakeholders is easily incorporated during the early design stages.

Our simulation flow is tried and tested, and in most cases, first prototypes are completely working and usable in products
